factor x factor = whole number

 

The factors of 16 are 16, 1, 4, 8 and 2

16x1=16, 4x4=16, 8x2=16

The factors of 24 are 24, 12, 6, 3, 2, 8 and 4 

24x1=24 12x2=24 8x3=24 6x4=24

Multiples are the answers we get when we multiple 2 factors.

Think of the 3 times table where 3 is always the factor.

What are the multiples of 3?

3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 33 and 36
