If you're looking for a challenge check out these puzzles involving the mass of the cats and gifts. There are clues to help you and think logically before racing to your answers. There will be a prize for anyone who gets the correct answers when I come back. You can only get stuck into these if you have finished your classwork or you try them at home.
Enjoy!
Week 5 Activities
3D Boxes - use the formula you know to work out the volume rather than counting
Volume calculations - you may need paper to work out or a calculator
Pour to Score - similar to the problem we did a few weeks ago with the three jugs
Capacity measures - you will need to know your conversions between units
Capacity measures 2 - make sure your measuring is exact
Mostly Posty - pay close attention to the scales
Alien Cookbook - use a range of measurement skills to help the alien cook some treats
Mass measures - look carefully and answer in decimals
Balancing scales - use the weights to balance the scales
At the vets - use the tools to measure the height, length and weight of the animals at the vets
Week 7 Tuesday Afternoon Activity
Use https://www.vline.com.au/timetables/ to create 4 questions about the timetable and getting to a place of your choice.
When you're done, in your group of threee, swap your questions over so you are all answering some elses questions.
Then swap again to see the questions and answers of the third person.
Anyone who needs help should join Natalie. Anyone who finishes early there is an extension task.
Enjoy your trip!
Week 10
Open the documents by clicking the links. Answer the questions in your book.
Blackmore Bus and London Flyer
Once you have finished the time tabling questions and shown Natalie, your challenge is to create a new weekly timetable for the 5/6 area next term. There will be some rules to follow when making your timetable.
The rules are:
- 7 hours of literacy (reading, writing, spelling)
- 6 hours of maths
- 4 hours of integrated studies
- 1 hour of PE, 1 hour of VA, 1 hour of Science
- Natalie teaches PE at these times;
Monday 12:30
Tuesday 12:30
Wednesday 12:30 and 2:30
Thursday 12:30
and when she teaches PE we can't have literacy or maths
- You must make it different from the Term 3 timetable
Good luck! We will have a look at these and consider using them for next term...
